And That's a Wrap

Jimmie Johnson finally got it done, finishing in 9th at the Homestead race clinching his first Nascar Cup Championship. He, Chad and his whole crew deserve it.

Michael Schumacher fought valiantly for a backdoor championship, but in the end, Fernando Alonso repeated as the Formula 1 Drivers Champion and Renault wins Constructor. Michael and Ferarri both took second.

With the championship hanging in the balance until the final lap, Sam Hornish Jr. followed Dan Wheldon across the finish line with enough points to clinch his second championship in the Indy Racing League. It was a spectacular race at Chicagoland, a very lively track.

Sebastien Bourdais clinched his record tying third consecutive Champ Car Championship with one race to go, but out-duelled Justin Wilson on the final lap and won the season's last race at Mexico City. Gotta give it up to the Frenchy Frenchman, he's fast, boy's, he's fast.

Authors Note:
Finances have stabilized and preparations are underway to race my kart next season, starting in March or April. I'll be roadracing my Birel/Yamaha KT 100 at tracks like Texas World Speedway, No Problem Raceway in Lousiana and Motorsports Ranch Houston, not far from home at all. Brakes were completely replaced, motor work will take place and a new/extra motor for race weekends will be next.
