Kubica back in drivers' seat

Fellow Pole and online blogger Mateusz Cieslicki has created a website dedicated to the progress of Formula 1 driver Robert Kubica's return to Formula 1.

 Robertscomback.blogspot.com reported on March 11, 2012 that Kubica had been practicing at a kart track in Italy and had posted some very fast times. Cieslicki also reported on April 12 of this year that Kubica test drove a Renault Clio s1600. There's also video depicting the Renault in action on the circuit near the site of his horrific 2011 accident. In a related article at The F1 Times,  Robert Wood describes the same rally test and concludes Kubica's road to recovery is doing well.

Since his crash, Renault has replaced him with Bruno Senna, and though Senna has improved, it was never a question whether Robert would have his seat back with a full recovery. It was only unclear if Kubica could make a full recovery. Renault set no timeframe for his recovery and save for a setback this winter with Robert falling and injuring his leg, the recovery and incredible rehabilitation have gone as planned.

Kubica's injuries were sustained in this crash, inwhich his Skoda rally car flew off-course at a high rate of speed, struck a steel armco barrier and the steel retainer passed through the cabin of the car, striking Roberts right leg, arm and all but completely severing his right hand. It was a shocking crash and the news of the injuries were recieved by a huge number of Kubica's fans and well-wishers from all corners of Formula 1 and the racing world.

*note: at the time of this writing, Renault's Formula 1 driver lineup has Romain Grosjean and Kimi Raikkonen. Both cars are enjoying action near the front, with Raikkonen well up in the driver's championship points ranking.
